Chapel

In June 1951, the Regiment's Memorial Chapel was dedicated in St. Chad's Church, Shrewsbury. Though primarily intended to commemorate the Regiment in its present form, the deeds of the two former regiments - the 53rd (Shropshire) Regiment and the 85th The King's Light Infantry - are also included, in order to portray the whole history of the Regiment. Besides the two Regular Battalions, the 4th (Territorial) Battalion and the Herefordshire Light Infantry have their own panels in the Memorial Chapel.

Collect

O LORD JESUS CHRIST, LIGHT OF LIGHT, WHO DIDST DIE AND RISE AGAIN MORE GLORIOUS FOR US, VOUCHSAFE SO TO RAISE THY SERVANTS THE KING'S SHROPSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY INTO THY GLORIOUS LIGHT, THAT THOUGH WE SUFFER WE MAY BE GLORIFIED WITH THEE, WHO WITH THE FATHER AND THE HOLY GHOST ART GLORIFIED FOR EVER.

Note: If someone would like to submit a photograph of the Chapel, please send it to BLIRegt. Thank you.
