Dramatic Zulu Reversal at Khambula

The March 1998 issue of Military History magazine contains an article by John Young on pages 22 - 28 including 7 pictures (none of the 13th) and 1 map on the Battle of Khambula. The map shows the positions occupied by the 13th.

Seven companies of the 1st Battalion, 13th (Prince Albert's Own Somersetshire) Light Infantry took part in this battle. Names mentioned are Major William Knox Leet, Captain William Cox, Private William Grosvenor, Colour Sergeant Arthur Fricker, Private Albert Page DCM, Captain John Miller Waddy, Private John Snook (whose letter was published in the North Devon Herald on May 29, 1879).

The article suggests Blood on the Painted Mountain, by Ron Lock as further reading.
