Frederick Charles Morley 25314,
Boer War

being researched by Lt/Col Fred A. Morley USAF (Ret.)

Envelope mailto:FMorley1@aol.com

My grandfather served during the Boer War. I have the following data on my grandfather. He was a Tin Miner in Cornwall and mined gold in South Africa. While in South Africa he served in the military during the Boer War. I have his service medal, with three bars awarded for this service. The bars indicate his service in South Africa, 1901; Orange Free State and Cape Colony. On the edge of the medal the following is engraved: 25314 (must be his service number); Pte (must be his rank, Private); F.C. Morley; O.M.S.C.

Can anyone help Mr. Morley with what O.M.S.C. means?
